Guest Performances

St. Mary’s Foundation

In 2010 and 2012, SBDC collaborated with the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation by contributing to the Girls for the Cure and the St. Mary’s Ball.

The Girls for the Cure event is an annual walk up Mount Royal to raise funds for the St. Mary’s Hospital cancer treatment services. In 2010, SBDC created a flash-mob style choreography for all the participants to learn and dance at the event!

The company also performed at the 2012 St. Mary’s Ball, the yearly fundraising gala for the foundation. Again, SBDC invited participants to join in their love of dance.

A Night to Remember

SBDC has worked with the organizers of the annual A Night to Remember event, a gala that raises funds and awareness to support the Alzheimer Society of Montreal. In 2014, Sonia Balazovjech worked with organizers to create the theme for the event: Touch.

We wanted to ask “How has Alzheimer’s touched you?” By incorporating personal stories from the audience, the performance brought together those who have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

STAGE

SBDC participated annually in STAGE from 2010 up to its last year in 2013.

Created and produced by Lynsey Billing of Scream Dance Academy in Montreal, STAGE was an opportunity for talented individuals to come together for an evening to showcase and share in their love of dance and performance.

Macdonald High School

SBDC has continually collaborated with the Macdonald High School dance program since 2005. Through dance workshops, teaching choreographies, and yearly guest performances at the annual school dance show, SBDC aims to inspire younger dancers to pursue the art and athletics of dance.
